September 2025 Release Notes: Quality over Quantity

Your RevenueBase August 2025 release is here wherever you get your RevenueBase data.

📈 September 2025 RevenueBase database stats:

  • Business contacts: 323 million (Net Growth: -5 million)
  • Companies: 63.8 million (Net growth: +1.3 million)
  • Business emails: 59 million (Net growth: -0.3 million)
  • Mobile numbers: 43 million (Net growth: -0.9 million)

As part of a targeted quality-enhancement initiative, we performed more extensive cleanup this month (details below).

Data Quality Metrics:

  • Email re-verification rate: 98.18% verified within the last 60 days.
  • Contact data freshness: 84.27% of job experiences verified on LinkedIn within the last 90 days.
  • Company data accuracy: 89.11% of company information verified by trusted sources in the last 90 days.

🔧 Data Improvements:

  • 9.2 million contacts removed – keeps your lists clean by removing people who recently left their job.
  • 2.1 million email addresses removed that no longer pass our deliverability checks, keeping your email sends above 95% deliverability.
  • 1 million cellphone numbers removed that are no longer valid.
  • Email coverage expanded by adding contact emails to additional companies.
  • Data quality enhancement initiative: Implemented automated logic to retire records with no updates for 12+ months, improving overall dataset quality. We plan to progressively shorten this deprecation window in upcoming releases to maintain fresher data.
  • Email matching improvements: Deployed new corporate email-pattern matching to increase discovery and coverage across the database.

🧩 Technical notes:

  • The contact-volume reduction reflects our commitment to data quality over quantity.
  • The enhanced email-matching patterns are already showing improved results and will be reflected in subsequent releases.
  • LinkedIn has instituted additional anti-scraping protections on public profiles, which can intermittently limit access to job-experience fields for extended periods. While we can re-verify emails at any time, we have chosen to “age out” contacts whose job experience hasn’t been re-verified within the past 12 months—even if their email was recently re-verified. We will consider adjusting the 12-month cutoff based on customer feedback.

What’s coming up:

  • October’s release: direct data feed subscribers will automatically get the link to people’s linkedin profile pics added to their deliveries.
